Rescuing Civilization from the Brink:
Zepp-LaRouche Delivers International Webcast

Helga Zepp-LaRouche held a webcast on Feb. 11, which was originally intended to address a German and German-speaking public in Europe, but given the urgency of the strategic situation, she decided to do it in English, in order to reach a larger audience immediately.

She began with an urgent appeal to all those who recognize that our civilization is right now "in mortal danger", to join her in a mobilization to prevent a collapse of civilization. "There are solutions and they can be implemented in time, but it requires a very drastic and dramatic fundamental change of the global financial order, and an equally dramatic change in the thinking of most people."

The two immediate crises we face are: "the collapse of the trans-Atlantic financial system, which is already leading to the collapse and the breakup of the euro, as we can see most clearly in the situation in Greece.... (cf. below) Secondly, we have the immediate danger of a thermonuclear war, triggered by the events around Syria and Iran, but not really focused on these two countries, and actually aimed at regime change or the disintegration of Russia and China."

The name of the game is empire, she said, or more precisely, the British Empire. Although most people protest that the "British Empire" ceased to exist a long time ago, Zepp-LaRouche understands it to be "the complex system of central banks, investment banks, hedge funds, private equity funds, insurance companies, the shadow banking sector.... That financial system has been responsible for the paradigm shift in the last 40-45 years, shifting away from the production of physical goods, the so-called real economy, and more and more to speculation, to the idea of profit maximization, and pure monetarism." And it is now hopelessly bankrupt.

Zepp-LaRouche detailed how, since the breakup of the Soviet Union, followed by Desert Storm in Iraq, the Western powers have gone increasingly for a policy of regime change, internationally, chippping away at the basic concepts of international law and national sovereignty. Now, after Libya, Iran and Syria are the immediate targets. Secret warfare has already been going on for a long time, by arming and training ostensible opposition figures in both countries, and instigating violence (cf. below).

Today, Zepp-LaRouche went on, the total firepower which has been amassed in the Mideast, “is in absolutely no relation to the supposed reason, namely, helping the rebels in Syria, or deterring Iran from a nuclear program.” This renders an escalation toward global thermonuclear war virtually inevitable, once the first attacks begin, if only by miscalculation.

The policy of the British Empire, Zepp-LaRouche pointed out, is also determined by the fundamental oligarchical commitment to "culling" the population. Prince Philip himself has called time and again for drastic population reduction.

The oligarchical model, she said, is associated not only with monetarism, but also with environmentalism, both being expressions of a fixed world, with a limited amount of resources, where a state of equilibrium is considered to be the goal.

On the contrary, "the universe is creative" and anti-entropic, and the mission of the human species is to ensure its further development. That requires fulfilling man's “extraterrestrial imperative” by colonizing space and better understanding universal physical principles.
