Italy: Resistance Forces to "White Fascism" Rally around Movisol

As the puppet regime of Mario Monti carries out the "creative destruction" of the Italian economy as ordered by the European Central Bank, the population and some institutions are increasingly looking to the LaRouche movement.

First, the government was forced to make major concessions to taxi drivers, whose struggle, organized around the figure of Claudio Giudici, Movisol representative and leader of the taxi union Uritaxi in Tuscany, had become symbolic of a much broader-based protest. However, in an executive order issued on Jan. 21, the government took authority over certain local transportation decisions away from local governments, shifting it to the national level, a proposition opposed by the unions which see it as a vehicle for deregulation. Therefore, the national strike for Jan. 23 was maintained. Furthermore, all other sectors coming under Monti's axe – pharmacists, lawyers, notaries, gasoline vendors – will join the protests. Monti will be facing an unprecedented social upheaval, posing a real challenge to a Parliament, which is supposed to approve, reject or change the government decrees within 40 days.

In the midst of this growing social conflict, Lyndon LaRouche's warning before the breakout of the current financial crisis was prominently featured on the Raidue TV channel. The documentary started off with an interview given by LaRouche in May 2003 to the author of the program, Giovanni Minoli, in which LaRouche forecast the coming collapse of the financial system.

First, one sees a videoclip from the interview, with a closeup shot of LaRouche saying: "The entire financial and monetary system is close to a collapse". Journalist Minoli stresses: "These words were pronounced in May 2003, I repeat, May 2003, by a prominent American economist, Lyndon LaRouche."

It goes on to show LaRouche illustrating the "Triple Curve" function which depicts how the financial economy has decoupled from the physical economy, which has collapsed in real terms – although people may not have realized it yet. LaRouche then explains how all started in 1964, in the context of the Indochina war, through a shift from a "producers economy" to a "consumers economy". He goes through the difference between a conjunctural crisis, where the economy recovers after a while, and a collapse crisis which has now occured.

A video with the section with LaRouche, can be viewed here.

LaRouche's influence is also recognizable in the latest offensive launched by former Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti, in his new book Emergency Exit (Uscita di Sicurezza). There, he exposes the "white fascist" coup of technocratic governments, as being "the final stage of finance", and calls for a new pact among states including a return to the "glorious" Glass-Steagall Act of the FDR era.

The famous ECB letter to the Italian government in August 2011, Tremonti writes, was "a letter of financial evangelism" containing "a threat of denying help to Italy", by failure to purchase Italian sovereign bonds. The ex-minister compares the ECB to an "IMF in a regime of occultism", i.e. it exerts the same power over sovereignty but without admitting it. Instead of military coups, governments and parliaments are put into "receivership", under the pretext of the systemic stability of the euro, by "technocrats who are apostles of utopies, and remain convinced of the monetarist dogma." For Tremonti, the Financial Stability Board is a Trojan Horse for the financial world.

A decisive shift came at the G8 Deauville summit in May 2011, he writes, where the Merkozy couple surrendered to finance and created chaos, by discriminating between "good" and "bad" states. He calls it a "crazed anomaly" to have submitted governments to the currency.
