No Republican Party Candidate Worth Voting For!

While President Obama is trampling on the U.S. Constitution, pushing for new wars, and presiding over the further dismantling of the physical economy, no serious opposition to his reelection has emerged, either as a challenge in the Democratic Party, or from the Republican side.

In fact, with the exception of Rep. Ron Paul's limited opposition to Obama's wars and police-state powers, the Republican contest has become a real clown show. Other than Paul, the candidates have accused Obama of not being aggressive enough in launching new wars, and attacked him for not bombing Iran or ousting Assad, while saying nothing against his use of drones to murder opponents, including American citizens, and his extension of powers to spy on Americans far beyond that of the Bush-Cheney regime.

As Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, was at the head of the pack since the beginning, the other Republicans have been vying to become the "anti-Romney." Claiming Romney is "not conservative enough," they have focused their efforts on winning over hard-core "Christian fundamentalists". Since last August, one after another, from Michele Bachmann to Rick Perry, to Herman Cain and Newt Gingrich, their candidacies faltered.

In the Iowa caucuses on Jan. 3, Romney won over former Senator Rick Santorum by just 8 votes, with each of them gathering 24%, to Ron Paul's 21%. Santorum's support came mainly from so-called Christian fundamentalists, who backed him for his charge that America is in a "moral decline," with gay marriage and abortion as the leading issues!

In New Hampshire, Romney consolidated his score, with 40% of the vote, to Ron Paul's second place, with 23%, but how long he will remain front-runner is up for grabs, as he will clearly not address the concerns of most Americans, who are tired of war, and the disintegration of the economy.

As noted above, the only exception in the campaign has been Ron Paul, who has denounced Obama's Libya war, and his intentions to attack Syria and Iran as unconstitutional, even impeachable offenses, and referred to the "indefinite detention" provisions of the NDAA Act as "fascist." For these stands, and his opposition to the Federal Reserve system and its multi-trillion dollar bailouts, Paul has developed a loyal following, especially of young people, and raised more than $13 million in the fourth quarter, insuring he will be able to continue his campaign. However, his embrace of “Austrian School” austerity policies, and his rejection of a return to the regulatory and American System credit policies of Franklin Roosevelt, shows he has learned nothing from the present global financial/economic collapse, and that will likely sink his candidacy.

As polls show growing discontent with Obama, his opponents, and the Congress, the door is open to the leadership of the slate of candidates associated with Lyndon LaRouche, with its commitment to revive the policy orientation of Franklin Roosevelt, and introduce a credit system. Key to the demands of the slate is that Obama be ousted before the election, which would open the prospect for replacing the current clown show, with a serious bipartisan debate over principles, not partisan axioms.

As Lyndon LaRouche commented, none of these candidates are worth voting for, and Obama is an abomination, just as the United States is going into the greatest crisis it has ever experienced.
