Time Magazine, Online Media Cover Democrat Kesha Rogers' Campaign to Impeach Obama
Four months after the fact, in its June 20 online edition, Time gave prominent coverage to Kesha Rogers' surprise victory in the Texas primary and the problems that caused for the Democratic Party, given that she ran on a platform on impeaching Obama. "The people of the 22nd district in Texas voted for me - they recognized the [Democratic] party is not acting in the interests of the people," Kesha Rogers is quoted as saying.
The article mentions that the LaRouche Youth Movement "espouses LaRouche's opposition to free trade and globalism, and it also calls for a return to humanist classical education, emphasizing the works of Plato and Leibniz." It also recalls that during the campaign, Rogers "was photographed carrying an oversized portrait of the President with a Hitler-style moustache penciled on his lip."
Rogers' emphasis on saving and expanding NASA manned space exploration is mentioned, as well as another of her slogans: "Help send me to Congress, and we can send our grandchildren to Mars!". Rogers, it says, "ran a high-profile campaign, staking out a corner on a major intersection in the district to appear almost daily with a large sign: 'Save NASA. Impeach Obama'." And with that, she garnered 53% in a three way race.
"Rogers told Time, 'I don't think the Democratic Party leadership is getting it. The people continue to see more and more economic devastation and they don't see any real leadership.'" The article concludes with an ironic warning to the Democratic Party: "And for now, the party leadership will pretend that it can't see Rogers."
The Time article was picked up by several online media, including the Dallas Buzz Examiner, which presents a 1 minute, 20 second excerpt from Kesha's campaign website, and ends thus: "Watch the video and let Kesha make her own personal introduction; and ask yourself - is Kesha the future of the Democrat party?"
From the right, the michellemalkin.com website also runs a piece, noting, as Time did, that many have drawn a parallel between the surprise victory of Alvin Greene in the recent South Carolina Democratic primary and Rogers', but then says that the Democratic Establishment wishes she were more like him, "who is no threat to them".
Fox TV News also covered Kesha, prominently showing how she got 53% of the vote after calling to impeach Obama, and mentioning that she was often seen with a picture of Obama wearing a moustache.
