U.S.: Impeach Harry Reid, Defeat Obama's Fascist Healthcare Reform Bill

On December 24, 2009, after weeks of excruciating pressure exerted by the Obama White House and the Senate leadership, the U.S. Senate passed a health care reform bill on Christmas Eve, which is flagrantly unconstitutional – both in letter and in spirit.

In addition to establishing an independent "death panel" to slash costs, which means deciding which treatments and care will be denied on the model of the nazis' Tiergarten 4 program and Britain's NICE rationing panel, the “Reid-Baucus” bill also prohibits the Senate and House from repealing or otherwise changing the diktats of the unelected Independent Medical Advisory Board (IMAB) .

The latter provisions were not in the bill passed by the House on Nov. 7, and also not in the version approved by the Senate Finance Committee on Oct. 13, but were personally written, and secretly added to the legislation, by Senate President Harry Reid, during negotiations in his office.

Subsection B of Section 3404 states: "It shall not be in order in the Senate or the House of Representatives to consider any bill, resolution, amendment, or conference report that would repeal or otherwise change this subsection." Reminiscent of Hitler's "Thousand-Year Reich," Harry Reid claims the IMAB should become the unalterable law of the United States forever, with no interference from representatives of "we, the people".

In a further subsection, the bill states: "There shall be no administrative or judicial review under section 1869, section 1878, or otherwise of the implementation by the Secretary under this subsection of the recommendations contained in a proposal." Plainly speaking, the Administration and the Courts have no say. In the same way, health care providers and patients would not be allowed to appeal any of the IMAB decisions – most of which deal with cost-cutting measures such as "comparative effectiveness research".

"That's fascism!", Lyndon LaRouche commented. Reid should submit himself immediately for prosecution at a Nuremberg court! "He has to be immediately impeached! For crimes against humanity. He's got a Hitler-style bill, a Hitler-style policy... If Harry Reid revives this kind of legislation, he's committing a crime against humanity, and should be indicted for that reason alone." He is attempting to overthrow the U.S. Constitution, and "any member of the Supreme Court who supports this," should be impeached, immediately.

LaRouche also pointed out to the similarities between the "for all eternity to come" nature of the IMAB's powers, and the Lisbon Treaty with its "irreversible" features, that was foisted upon the European Union, as a British operation to break up European nations, and turn them into colonies of a non-euro pound sterling system.

During the debate on the Senate floor, some opposition did come from Republicans. such as John Kyl and Tom Coburn, who exposed how the Obama-Reid-Baucus bill would lead to withholding of life-saving treatment for the ill. They also denounced the euthanasia policy of the Liverpool Care Pathway adopted by the British. That "cost-effective" method has caused the death of tens of thousands of elderly Britons by deep sedation, and involuntary withdrawal of food and fluids.

However, outside of the LaRouche movement, very few are challenging the basic premise of the bill, i.e. slashing health care costs per se. Although international media usually play up the White House claim that the "reform" will provide coverage for millions of uninsured Americans, in fact, the whole purpose of the IMAB is to dictate at least $450 billion in budget cuts for Medicaid over a ten-year period. And no proposal will be entertained, that would prevent the cuts, pre-determined by cold-blooded technocrats such as Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, from going through.

White House officials, starting with President Obama, and including Economic Advisor Larry Summers and Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag, have repeatedly claimed that health care costs are the single greatest cause of the U.S. fiscal problems, as if they existed in a vacuum. They carefully omit any mention of the massive bailout of the banks and Wall Street, which accounted for almost half of the Federal spending increase in 2009, according to the analysis of the Congressional Bureau Office released last October. And they refuse to deal with the takedown of the U.S. economy, and the soaring costs of unemployment.

In fact, it is possible to bring down health care costs, while providing much better medical care to all Americans, but that means a complete change in economic policy: putting the banking system into bankruptcy reorganization, setting up a national credit system to finance real production and create millions of productive jobs, and signing long-term treaty agreements with other sovereign nations on international trade and cooperation. In short, the LaRouche plan.

And on the health care front, shut down the sharks in the private Health Maintenance Organizations and the pharmaceutical companies, and go back to a Hill-Burton standard, where the federal government ensures provision of adequate basic infrastructure for all states.
